The human figure is the main subject in Renata Olivotti’s works. From a deep and full-bodied expressionism, the artist reaches abstractionism feeding on an unavoidable encroachment, reflected in traces which wander in perfect equilibrium between visibility and intuition. Never-ending signs are placed in the space with the intent of defining her own search, through the use of intense contemporary strokes. Renata Olivotti’s human figure visually releases a condensed energy, becoming an involuntary landscape where past, present and future coexist together, creating a temporal complex where unresolved destinies interact and change according to one’s own interpretations. The artist layers her works by constantly questioning previous research.
